FAQ

Greetings! Below you will find further details about the Apprenticeship. If you have any additional questions that are not covered, please feel free to write us ~ info@eldersistersapothecary.com

Program Commitment

This is a two year commitment, no exceptions. We intentionally keep the group small in honor of holding both an individual and collective approach. Our work together is deep and immersive. We craft the curriculum specifically for the apprentices in each group and the collective energy of the group as a whole.

Time Commitment

Aside from the in-person and virtual meetings, there will be a daily practice throughout the two year cycle. In addition, you can expect to spend a minimum of 1-2 hours each week on homework, study, reading, medicine making, ritual, etc. The more time you choose to spend immersed in the work, the more enriched your experience will be. This is the key time component & commitment to the development of your craft and living your unique magick.

Location (In-Person Weekends)

We are located in Davenport, NY which is about a 3 hour drive from New York City and a 75 minute drive from Albany, NY. The closest airport is in Albany. There is a Trailways bus that travels daily between NYC & Davenport. If you are considering the bus, please do let us know as location of lodging and rides to & from our gatherings will need to be arranged.

Accommodation (In-Person Weekends)

Upon acceptance, we will provide a recommended housing list of local BnBs, AirBnBs, and hotels in the area. If you would like to do your own research, we recommend looking in the towns of Jefferson, Stamford, Harpersfield, Meredith, East Meredith, Oneonta, Delhi, & Cooperstown in addition to Davenport. In some of these villages, you will find B&Bs and hotels; some will have just private AirBnB options.

Meals (In-Person Weekends)

A plentiful and nourishing vegetarian dinner will be provided on Friday & Saturday evenings. Lunch on Saturday is bring your own. Coffee, tea, fruit & snacks will be provided on Saturday & Sunday.

Application Process

The first step is to fill out the application. Once we receive your application, we will be in touch to schedule a Zoom call. This is a time for us to get to know each other better. It is deeply important to us that this program is a good fit and the right one for you. Come with questions, curiosities and, most importantly, your magickal Self, just as you are. It will be such a gift to connect with you.

You will receive an email from us within one week after our call. If accepted into the Apprenticeship for this year, you will receive a welcome email and additional details to begin planning for our first in-person weekend on March 15-17, 2024.

Safety, Health, & Covid-19

All Apprentices will need to have a negative Covid-19 test within 24 hours of the start of each in-person weekend. This policy is subject to change based on new and evolving data.

The health and wellbeing of the collective is of utmost importance to us. We will be sharing close space with each other throughout each weekend, both inside our home as well as outside, sharing meals, and engaging in practices where social distancing is not possible. The intimacy of the learning experience, the protection of our physical space, as well as the health of all involved is vital to the sacredness of the program.

At the start of the program, we will make collective agreements around the safety and wellbeing of all involved in the Apprenticeship for our in-person time together and are asking each Apprentice for their transparency, communication, and integrity in upholding these collective agreements as we spiral through the program.
